Ultra VPL - Natural Light Hair Removal
The Ultra VPL treatment has been clinically proven to remove hair from all parts of the face and body. The variable settings mean that it can effectively treat the different types of hair found all over the body, from the thicker underarm hair to the finer facial hair. Hundreds of hair follicles are destroyed with each pulse, resulting in an easy and effective way to treat unwanted hair.

• For this treatment hair needs to be shaved so there is no surface hair visible otherwise the light will be attracted into the surface hair, burning it, and possibly causing superficial skin burns from the burnt hair lying on the skin. With some skins, this could lead to pigmentation problems.
• Our results will vary around 80-85 % hair removal; this hair will stop re-growing usually within 4-8 treatments. There is often residual hair growth returning, but it is finer, lighter and much slower in regrowth. Occasional maintenance sessions are usually required following the initial course of treatments.
• Hair is usually treated 4 weekly.
• Hormonal hair and red hair are harder to treat. White and grey hair is not successfully treated. The hair must be darker than the skin.
• We do not treat under eyebrows, nostrils, inner ears, inner labia, male genital areas or tattoos.

Sun, liver and age spots.
Conditions which usually appear in later years. These are all caused by an excess amount of melanin, the pigment which determines our hair and skin colour. Melanin absorbs the light energy from Ultra VPL and heats up quickly, whilst the surrounding skin remains cool. The heat means that the particles of melanin break up into smaller particles that are then removed by the body's natural waste processes, leaving skin clear and smooth.

Thread veins, spider naevi and cherry spots.
Conditions where small veins become visible on the skin's surface. Light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels that make up these imperfections. This absorption process breaks down the vessel walls. Effective Ultra VPL treatments allow the body to recognise these broken vessels as waste and removes them naturally.

Wrinkles and fine lines.
Collagen is the substance in our bodies that keeps our skin looking youthful and smooth. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen, resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The light from Ultra VPL stimulates cells in the body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. The new collagen moves outwards to the skin's surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

Acne Scarring.
Acne is caused by excess sebum, an oil naturally produced by the body which clogs up pores and causes infection. Over long periods this can result in acne scarring. Ultra VPL improves both active acne and acne scarring by destroying the bacteria that causes the infection. Acne is healed significantly following a course of treatments and skin texture and tone in improved as the Ultra VPL initiates further collagen production.

Please note: With all treatments with the Ultra VPL, the client must have kept the area to be treated out of the sun 4-6 weeks prior to treatments. Skin that has had sun exposure within the last 6 weeks will have very active, excited melanocytes which will respond to light exposure very easily, possibly causing hyper (dark) or hypo (white) pigmentation.
